Financial clarity shouldn't be complicated

We started belcavorio in 2019 because we kept seeing the same problem. Business owners making critical decisions based on financial statements they didn't truly understand.

How we got here

What began as weekend workshops has grown into something much bigger. But our approach hasn't changed—we believe financial literacy is the foundation of better business decisions.

2019

The beginning in Silverwater

Two former analysts started running small workshops from a shared office space. We focused on teaching practical statement analysis to local business owners who wanted to understand their numbers better.

Expanding our reach

Word spread faster than we expected. We moved to larger premises and hired three experienced finance professionals who shared our teaching philosophy. Our courses started attracting participants from across New South Wales.

Building deeper programmes

We launched our first comprehensive six-month programme focusing on cash flow analysis and forecasting. The response showed us there was real appetite for in-depth financial education that went beyond surface-level concepts.

Where we are now

Today we work with over 400 businesses annually. Our team has grown to twelve trainers, each bringing real-world experience from different industries. We've kept our focus tight—we teach financial statement analysis, and we do it thoroughly.

People who actually know this stuff

Our instructors have spent years working with financial statements before they started teaching. They've made mistakes, learned from them, and now help others avoid the same pitfalls.

Petra Koskinen, Lead Financial Instructor

Petra Koskinen

Lead Financial Instructor

Petra spent fourteen years as a financial controller for manufacturing companies before joining belcavorio in 2020. She specialises in teaching ratio analysis and trend interpretation. Her approach is direct—she believes if you can't explain something simply, you don't understand it well enough.

Vesna Babić, Cash Flow Specialist

Vesna Babić

Cash Flow Specialist

Vesna worked in corporate restructuring for a decade, helping struggling businesses understand their cash positions. She joined belcavorio in 2022 because she wanted to teach prevention rather than cure. Her courses focus on reading cash flow statements and spotting early warning signs.

What drives our work

We're not trying to turn everyone into accountants. But we do believe business owners should understand the financial information that shapes their decisions.

Practical over theoretical

Every concept we teach connects to real business situations. We use actual financial statements and work through scenarios our participants might face. Theory matters, but only when you can apply it.

Small groups work better

We cap our classes at sixteen participants. This lets us answer specific questions about individual businesses and adjust examples based on the industries represented. Financial statements vary significantly across sectors.

Honesty about complexity

Some aspects of financial analysis are genuinely difficult. We don't pretend otherwise. When something requires careful thought and practice, we say so. Building real understanding takes time.

Ongoing support matters

Learning doesn't stop when the course ends. Participants can reach out with questions about their own statements for six months after completing any programme. Many of our best teaching moments happen during these follow-up conversations.

Our next intake starts November 2025

We're running a comprehensive programme covering balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis. Six months of focused learning with experienced instructors.
